This mix of down beat sad sack songs is brought to you buy…nothing! I’m in a really good mood and really enjoy life.   It’s just fun to listen to depressing songs every now and again.   I guess it is a way of making you have a mix of emotions which I feel is rather healthy.   Rather than simply stifling any sad feelings you have from time to time it’s good to preemptively go about remembering what those times were.   Keeping you in check to some degree.   This probably sounds really unhealthy, either that or like something I’m just randomly typing out very quickly at the end of a workweek.   Probably a little of both. yeah where to buy viagra, i put in the fact that feist is featured on this to make you actually pay attention to this trip-hop song.   Readymade FC is something David got me in to several years ago.   It’s also one of those artists I go back to sporadically and don’t really know why.   Don’t get me wrong, I love both albums I have but it just doesn’t seem like something I would normally be drawn back to time after time in such differing moods/settings.   The minimalism in this track lends itself to Feists usual playful cooing in such a way it wouldn’t be out of place on one of her albums upon first listen.

Yes, Gold was a successful album for Ryan Adams.   Yes, there was that song about loving New York (ok, it was really about an actress/girlfriend but I’ll let you go on thinking it was a tribute to NYC pre/post -9/11) and yes, the stars do go blue.   This is still a great lyrical album that seems to be shunned unfairly by critics.   It isn’t Heartbreaker but what is?  This track stands out for me for it’s tough to figure out exactly what he is going through.   I tend to think of this as the author being in a relationship and realizing there is something else out there to have fun with and his relationship with this person is routine and lacking.   “Jeans, jacket and a shirt” is the routine clothing for going out and that is what it has become, a routine.   Sorry, I rarely do that so you will have to pardon me pontificating on the subject of a songs true meaning.   Just think of it as a great song about LA.

Sappy and depressing.   The new album (well, new in the sense that this is the first time all these songs have been available on one disc…aka it’s a singles & rarities comp), , will be out on March 10th.   I’m a sucker for this stuff though many of the songs are less than a minute and because of the sing/speak are often times hard for me to classify as “songs”.   This is one of my all time favorite CFTPA songs.

This song is perhaps the song that really got me reacquainted with country music.   I’m surprised it hasn’t come to my mind previously when I’ve been grasping at straws trying to find a new song to post in this slot week after week.   (Skip the rest of this as it is likely only interesting to me. ) I first heard this song sometime in the late 90’s as it was being sung live at the Mid-State Fair back home in Paso.   I don’t often remember the place I was when I first heard a song but I can still picture the place and time with this song, well I guess the place and relative time as I have no clue what the exact year was.   It was around 10pm on a weekday night and I was walking up the hill to go back to my car with some friends.   After crossing the railroad tracks I remember looking back over the entire fair grounds and hearing this song and having it stick with me.   Yes, I know a song about a recovering alcoholic is an odd choice but I’m over it.   The music, time, place and people all got to me in this perfect storm of reminiscing.   This song takes me back to all those times, places and people.   Do with it as you wish even though I told you to skip this part and you didn’t listen.
